Fresh Results is one of the fastest growing companies in the fresh berry business. Compared to last year, production from Argentina is up about 20%. The company is harvesting virtually from the same acreage, but the maturity of its bushes is increasing yields. Weather has been very favorable; therefore,the fruit is of excellent quality — very large size and high sugar. Production in Argentina will peak in early November as the company transitions to Chilean fruit by late November.
To better establish its presence in Chile, Fresh Results have recently opened an office in Curico, Chile. Eric Crawford company president, says, “We are extremely excited about the support that we are receiving from our long time suppliers in Chile. We are projecting a minimum of 3 million kilos from Chile this year, which includes over 1 million kilos of our own fruit from our own farms. We have production starting in the Santiago area and continuing south to Osorno. This will give us the ability to start early and continue through March.”
The most exciting and unique program for Fresh Results is in Mexico. Blueberries begin harvesting in January and continue through July. Production is 100% grown under tunnels in three different regions. Fresh Results also grows blackberries in Los Reyes, Colima and Tuxman, allowing full capacity to ship without interruption from October through July. For the first time this year, Fresh Results will also ship raspberries and strawberries from Mexico. Crawford says, “We will load blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries all on the same truck and ship directly to our customers.
Fresh Results recently expanded its product offering to include papayas. It is now one of the largest grower/shipper of Red Maradol papayas. Production is currently coming from Belize; however, Brazilian fruit will be available soon. To enhance its category offering, Fresh Results will also begin shipping Solo papayas. Crawford says, “We are excited about our new yearround papaya program. Our retail support has been amazing.”
